- OUR STORY
Three generations, one FOCUS.
Since 1989, the Huffman family has harvested the same area of palmetto scrubland in Southwest Florida. What began as a small harvest operation has grown into one of the most trusted nutraceutical and pharmaceutical-grade botanical supply sources in North America and the world.

Plantation Botanicals is founded in Ohio by Marlin and Eva Huffman. We began producing and supplying bulk botanicals and dried floral materials to world markets.
We moved our operation to Southwest Florida, establishing production of saw palmetto berries, passion-flower herb, catnip, horehound and pokeroot.Â
Plantation Botanicals now manages over 2,500 acres of native palmetto habitat across Collier and Lee counties. We supply pharmaceutical manufacturers across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
The Huffmans
Family isn’t a marketing word here.
It’s who answers the phone.
In an industry that has largely moved toward commodity aggregation and anonymous brokerage, we have stayed the same: a family operation in which your account is managed by someone who walked the field that morning.
Myron Huffman oversees all harvest operations, field crew management, and quality protocols, ensuring every botanical meets the standards that have defined our name for generations. Patriarch Michael Huffman remains an active part of the business, bringing decades of experience and his agricultural science education from Purdue University to every stage of production.
Cousin Darren Callaway leads production, transforming freshly harvested botanicals into the consistent, high-quality ingredients our customers rely on. His work bridges the field and the finished product, maintaining the precision and care that define Plantation Botanicals. Meanwhile, family matriarch Eva Huffman continues to serve as treasurer, providing the steady financial stewardship and institutional knowledge that have helped guide the company through decades of growth while keeping it firmly rooted in its family values.
We are not a corporation. There is no purchasing department, no account manager hierarchy. When you call Plantation Botanicals, you get the Huffmans. That’s not a limitation — that’s the point.
Stewardship First
We manage native habitat with a 70-year perspective, not a quarterly one. Harvest rotations are set to allow full berry maturation and natural regeneration — never strip-harvested.
Relationships Over Volume
We work with a limited number of manufacturers. Not because we lack capacity — but because we believe deep supply relationships produce better outcomes than maximizing buyer count.
SWFL Community Roots
Our harvest crews are local to Collier and Charlotte counties. We have employed multiple generations of the same families and take pride in being a reliable part of the rural Southwest Florida economy.
